Lake Forest Boat Ramp Maintenance Dredging Project

The Lake Forest Boat Ramp Maintenance Dredging Project, managed by the Engineering Department of the Tahoe City Public Utility District, involves the removal of approximately 391 to 400 cubic yards of accumulated silt and sand from the boat ramp fairway on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. The primary objective is to restore the lakebed to its historic design elevation of 6,219 feet. The scope of work includes dredging operations using a floating barge with an excavator and clamshell bucket, transporting material to shore via a conveyor system, and hauling dewatered material in watertight trucks to the Eastern Regional Landfill in Truckee, California. The project has an engineer's estimate of $208,000 and requires adherence to US Army Corps of Engineers Regional General Permit 4 and Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board Section 401 Water Quality Certification. Eligible bidders must hold a California Class A Contractor license, be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations, and provide a minimum of five projects of similar size and scope along with at least three client references.
