AI Contract Overview

This contract involves the procurement of three replacement coil bundles specifically designed for the RC1 cooler located at Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee. The RC1 cooler is a large, multi-stage refrigerated cooling system used to dry air through condensation. Its key components include a 40-foot diameter shell containing multiple banks of finned tube coil bundles equipped with distribution headers, which facilitate the circulation of chilled fluids. The cooling process reduces air temperature to as low as -30 degrees Fahrenheit, condensing water vapor in the air while a glycol/water mixture sprayed on the coils prevents frost buildup. A critical requirement is that the coil exteriors must resist corrosion from exposure to Ethylene Glycol, Supercooled HD Glycol, or moist air, while the interiors must maintain corrosion resistance when exposed to Trichloroethylene (TCE). Additionally, the fin attachment method must avoid the use of solder. The contract specifies a performance period of 150 calendar days following the award, and proposals are due within 21 calendar days of solicitation issuance. The solicitation, identified as FA9101-06-R-0107 under NAICS code 333415, is currently in the presolicitation phase. For further details or inquiries, the designated point of contact is Tony G Clayborne, reachable via phone or email. The overall objective is to ensure the delivery of durable, corrosion-resistant coil bundles that meet the operational and environmental demands of the RC1 cooler system.
