The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, ERDC intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(b) (1) (ii) to Tencarva Machinery Company, Jackson, MS, for the repair of Goulgs Vertical Turbine Pumps . This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Tencarva Machinery Company is the only known source in this area capable of making the repairs to these pumps. The Government intends to acquire commercial services using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later that 12:00noon CST on 20 January 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
