The United States Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit in Juneau, Alaska is seeking information from commercial sources capable of designing, manufacturing, transporting, and installing a new pre-engineered, factory prefabricated, self-contained biological wastewater treatment system. This system will replace the existing 4,000-gallon package treatment plant at the U.S. Coast Guard Loran Station in Port Clarence, Point Spencer, Alaska. The system must treat commercial wastewater meeting specified biological oxygen demand and suspended solids ranges and achieve stringent effluent standards aligned with NSF Standard No. 40, including a nominal 90% BOD removal and specific limits for BOD, suspended solids, dissolved oxygen, chlorine residual, and pH. The project also includes demolition and disposal of the existing system and minor repairs to the sewage treatment room, with an anticipated delivery and installation timeframe from July 1 to July 31, 2003. The Coast Guard is conducting this market survey to identify capable firms and gather product literature, contractor restrictions, and business classification details such as Small Business, HUBZone, or 8(a) status. Respondents should provide firm name, contact information, and any limitations such as geographic constraints. This request for information is solely for gathering data and not a solicitation, with responses due by August 2, 2002, to the Contracting Officer at USCG CEU Juneau.
