The U.S. Government is issuing a sources sought notice for the procurement of life rafts to support overwater flight capabilities for the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade. While the government currently intends to award a sole source contract to Life Support International Inc. for HARD 8 and HARD 20 life raft systems, it is seeking other capable vendors, particularly small businesses, to determine if a competitive procurement is possible. These rafts are required to comply with AR 95-1 regulations for aircraft operating more than 30 minutes or 100 nautical miles from the shoreline, providing necessary survival kits and capacity for all personnel aboard UH-60 and CH-47 aircraft. Interested vendors must submit their company information, business size, and evidence of their capability and experience with similar requirements to George Hargis or Dorothy Bell. This notice is for market research purposes only and does not constitute a request for quotes or a promise to issue a future solicitation. Responses should include details on commercial availability, pricing, and any factors that may unnecessarily restrict competition. The deadline for responses is August 31, 2026.
