This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial supplies and services prepared in accordance with this format in Subpart 12.6 and Far Part 13 as supplemented with addional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation is being issued as Request for Quote# VA-246-10-RQ-0702. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the most recent Federal Acquisition Circular. The NAICS Code is 321911. The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Salem, VA has an emergency requirement for wood doors and intends to solicit quotes and award a firm fixed price contract. The contractor shall provide a total of twenty one wood doors and frames. The following provisions apply to this solicitation: 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal, 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial, 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial, commercial Advertising, 852.271-70, 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions required to implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial, including clauses incorporated by reference under Section b(1)(5)(11-16)(23-24). Bidders are to submit pricing. Process of determining contract award: award will be to the responsive, responsible bidder who can provide the Red Oak Doors and Frames or a product that meets or exceeds the Door specifications. Information on an alternate product should be specific, concise and complete and provide sufficient information to demonstate the product's capacity to meet or exceed the requirements. 1. Hardware shall be commercial grade and must be preapproved before use. All fasteners supplied shall be the manufacturer's recommended for the application, 16 ea.
