The Department of Veterans Affairs’ Network Contracting Office 7 plans to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to Tyco SimplexGrinnell for under $7,000. This contract, awarded under FAR 13.106-1 and FAR 6.302-1, involves the provision of a Multi Channel Distribution Unit and a STN Phonebox specifically for the 5009-9203 MTR nurse call system. These components are essential to maintaining the safety of patients and staff, fulfilling the VA’s legal obligations. The VA has determined that sourcing from any other contractor would result in unacceptable delays and higher costs. The evaluation will be based on the lowest price technically acceptable criteria. Although the contract is to be awarded non-competitively, interested parties can express their interest and capability to meet the stated requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals, and the decision to open competition lies solely with the VA, based on any responses received. All respondents must demonstrate their technical capability and experience clearly and convincingly to be considered. Prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for award. Responses should be submitted in writing to the designated Contract Specialist, and no costs incurred in responding will be reimbursed by the VA. The goal is to ensure timely acquisition of nurse call system parts that comply with VA standards, allowing the department to meet its operational and safety mandates.
