This contract, identified by solicitation number FA8217-06-R-76010, involves the procurement of four radar receivers, part number 77C725831G001, designed for use on the AN/FPS-117 system. The items are destined for Foreign Military Sales countries, with a specified delivery deadline of October 31, 2006. The procurement is directed toward Lockheed Martin Corporation in Liverpool, New York, under NAICS code 334511. The acquisition is being conducted as a limited source procurement under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1) and FAR 6.302, as the government determined that only one or a limited number of responsible sources could satisfy the agency requirements. While the notice served as an intent to negotiate with a limited source rather than a request for competitive proposals, the government allowed for a window of interest from other capable firms to determine if a competitive procurement was warranted.
