The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division at Patuxent River, Maryland, is seeking industry input on specifications for purchasing one C band and one L band antenna system. This Request for Information (RFI) aims to enhance the Government's understanding of industry capabilities and requirements to facilitate acquisition of quality antenna systems at competitive prices under a firm fixed-price commercial contract. Both antennas must be compatible with Viasat’s 3414 pedestal antenna plate and meet detailed technical specifications. The C band antenna, with a maximum diameter of 17 feet, covers 4.0 to 8.2 GHz frequencies, requires dual linear polarization with specific isolation and gain parameters, and includes physical waveguide connection points. The L band antenna, up to 24 feet in diameter, covers 0.7 to 4.0 GHz, also requires dual linear polarization, port isolation, and gain ranging from 30 to 46 dB across the band, with coaxial RF connection points. This RFI is not a solicitation for proposals but a means to gather comments, suggestions, ROM pricing, delivery schedules, and information on responder business size and commercial product applicability. Industry feedback on specification revisions or alternatives that could improve performance or cost-effectiveness is encouraged. Responses are due by January 6, 2005, and should be submitted to the specified Naval Air Warfare Center contact via mail, email, or fax. While a contract award is anticipated around May 2005, a formal solicitation may not result from this RFI. The Government will not pay for any information or incur costs from companies responding to this inquiry.

Next Generation Tactical Radio (NGTR)
Solicitation # N00421-27-RFPREQ-TPM209-0199
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is conducting market research to identify potential sources for the Next Generation Tactical Radio (NGTR), a modular Software Defined Radio (SDR) intended for U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aircraft. The NGTR is designed as a form, fit, and function backwards-compatible replacement for the ARC-210 Generation 5 and 6 radios. Key technical requirements include support for voice and data waveforms in the VHF and UHF bands with operational capabilities up to 6 GHz, including specific support for SINCGARS, MUOS, and SATURN. The system must feature a small form factor weighing less than 12.2 pounds, a conduction-cooled unit, and a modular Open architecture utilizing OpenVPX and VNX+ standards to facilitate rapid upgrades and obsolescence management. Security is a critical component of the NGTR, requiring a modular High Assurance Device (HAD) to meet NSA cryptographic and Security Evaluation Requirements Document (SERD) standards, as well as compliance with Zero Trust architecture and Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls. The system must also adhere to NSTISSAM TEMPEST 1-92 and CNSSAM standards. Prospective contractors must demonstrate expertise in agile development, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and the ability to obtain Top Secret security clearances. The anticipated acquisition timeline includes an Industry Day in the first quarter of FY27, a final RFP release in the fourth quarter of FY27, and a contract award in the second quarter of FY28, with target fleet delivery scheduled for mid-2034.
