59 -- AA44 Sensor Improvement

This is a notice of intent that WR-ALC anticipates issuing a contract for the purchase of services necessary to redesign the existing circuit cards contained in the AAR-44 Sensor to improve its missile detection performance. The AAR-44 OFP software will also be updated as part of this effort to take advantage of the improved sensor performance to provide improved declaration performance and false alarm rejection. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to restrict competition to the qualified source only, Cincinnati Electronics, Mason OH. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All proposals received within forty-five days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
