The contract involves a planned modification to an existing agreement for capability enhancements to the SIMNET RF Simulator produced by Amherst Systems. Specifically, the modification will focus on increasing the number of output ports and expanding the frequency coverage of the simulator. The Government intends to limit competition for this procurement exclusively to Amherst Systems, as they are recognized as the sole qualified source under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). This notice serves to inform interested parties and solicit information on their interest and capability to meet the requirement, but it is not a solicitation for competitive proposals. The Government will review any responses solely to determine whether to proceed with a competitive procurement; ultimately, the decision to restrict the contract to Amherst Systems remains at the Government's discretion. The solicitation was posted on July 26, 2006, under the NAICS code 334511, which pertains to electronic component manufacturing. All interested entities are encouraged to contact the designated Contract Specialist, Cheryl W Janssen, for further information.
