The Department of the Army, Healthcare Acquisition Activity-North, plans to negotiate a sole source contract with HQ Inc. for the procurement of a Core Body Temperature System. This system is a commercial item designed to provide comprehensive evaluation capabilities for testing new cooling technologies. The CorTemp Core Body Temperature System is unique in its ability to measure core body temperature accurately using an ingestible sensor, offering greater precision than external methods. It is the only system on the market adaptable for both field and laboratory environments, with features such as CorTemp RF remote units and the Nomad field RF base system, enhancing its flexibility in various settings. This procurement will support the ongoing collaborative effort with the 711th Human Performance Wing's RHP Human Physiology laboratory, where the system is already in use. The addition of new units will augment and integrate with the existing equipment in the laboratory. The notice emphasizes that the government intends to solicit and negotiate exclusively with HQ Inc. under the authority of FAR 6.302, reflecting that the CorTemp sensor technology is proprietary and licensed solely to HQ Inc. Although this notice is not a solicitation for competitive quotes, interested parties were invited to express their interest and capabilities by a specified deadline.
