The Department of Veterans Affairs issued a notice of intent to negotiate a single source contract with GE for the migration of proprietary GE Centricity software and data to a new server infrastructure. Because the software and data are proprietary, the government identified GE as the only entity capable of performing the migration. This action was conducted under FAR 13.106-1(b) with the North American Industry Classification System Code 334614. This notice served as a mechanism to determine if a competitive procurement was warranted, though the final decision remained at the discretion of the government. Interested parties were invited to submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations to Nicholas Poehlman by September 5, 2018. The government specified that it would not be responsible for any costs incurred by parties responding to the notice.
