The Department of Veterans Affairs Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Notice to identify potential contractors capable of supplying endoscopic video equipment for the renovation of its Operating Room Suite. The request focuses on sourcing a comprehensive system from a single vendor to outfit two operating rooms with essential components including 26-inch HDTV monitors, LED surgical lights with integrated in-light cameras, equipment and anesthesia booms with power, video/data, and medical gas connections, and a control panel for managing the surgical environment. Additionally, the system requires a large wall-mounted LCD monitor and a high-definition endoscopy camera setup with digital capture features, enabling archiving, editing, and sharing of surgical images and videos. All components need to be seamlessly integrated into a control system capable of accommodating multiple input sources and video displays with advanced features like picture-in-picture and remote diagnostics. The equipment specifications emphasize high-resolution video quality, ergonomic design, and versatility, with requirements such as wireless video signal reception for monitors, extensive vertical adjustment of flat panel arms, and surgical lights with a service life of approximately 50,000 hours that can rotate 360 degrees. Key functional elements include touch and voice control panels based on open architecture for future expansion, motorized boom articulation, and comprehensive device connectivity supporting DVI, VGA, and S-video formats. The digital capture system must support multiple image formats and be compatible with healthcare imaging standards like VistA-Imaging/DICOM, while insufflators and LED light sources must include safety features such as real-time pressure sensing and automatic standby modes. The Government is not soliciting bids at this time; instead, it is collecting information on contractor capabilities and technical approaches to fulfill these detailed requirements. Interested vendors are invited to submit their qualifications and proposals via email by a specified deadline for consideration in the ongoing market research process.
