The government, through the VHA Regional Procurement Office 2, is conducting a market research survey to identify qualified firms capable of providing the GAITRite Platinum Plus system and its accessories, under NAICS code 334510. This request is not a solicitation for proposals or quotes but rather an information gathering effort to assess the availability of suitable suppliers for a system designed to measure, record, and assess temporospatial gait parameters over a minimum distance of 16 feet. The system must include a high-speed camera setup with two cameras, a reporting system for outcome measurements, and the capability to be easily transported and set up in multiple locations. It will be used in ongoing research trials at the James J Peters VA Medical Center to evaluate gait changes in stroke patients using an exoskeleton device. Interested parties must respond in writing by July 31, 2019, with details including company name, capability statement, examples of past work, DUNS number, address, contact information, and socioeconomic classification such as veteran-owned or women-owned small business status. No telephone inquiries are accepted, and failure to provide the required information by the deadline will exclude consideration. The government emphasizes that no government-furnished property or travel is involved in this contract. If a formal solicitation is later issued, it will be announced separately on the GSA E-buy website, requiring interested vendors to submit fresh responses. Delivery of the GAITRite walkway is expected by fall, and the equipment will support comparative gait assessments involving different assistive devices and orthotics.
