The VA Office of Research and Development, VA North Texas Healthcare System, Research Department intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Mauna Kea Technologies, Inc. pursuant to FAR 6.302-1; for the purchase of a Cellvizio DualBand Probe-based Confocal Laser Endomicroscopy solution for pre-clinical use on small animals. This system is a fiber-optic fluorescence laser scanning confocal microscope with 2 lasers for excitation. The fiber-optic head stage can be used as an endoscope or directly implanted into soft tissue. The DualBand system has a large set of research applications that will be used by several research groups, including cancer and angiogenesis, neurobiology, inflammation, immunology, biodistribution, and colocalization. The system will be delivered to the VA Medical Center at 4500 S Lancaster Rd, Dallas, TX 75216. The following items will be purchased for this system: 1.
