65--Intent To Sole Source

The VA Medical Center in White River Junction, Vermont, plans to negotiate a sole source contract with GE Medical Systems Information Technologies to provide upgrade and replacement parts for EKG systems used throughout the VISN I region in New England. These EKG systems are currently supported by GE Medical hardware, which integrates with the VISN-Wide VISTA Imaging EKG retrieval and display software essential for clinical operations across the network. Given the proprietary nature of the technology and the need for system compatibility, no other vendors can offer the necessary parts or support, making GE the only viable source. This action is not a solicitation for competitive proposals, and no solicitation package will be made available. The government retains full discretion in deciding whether to proceed without competition as outlined in the contract terms. The procurement will be conducted under the existing Federal Supply Schedule Contract V797P-4158A, emphasizing the exclusive relationship with GE for maintaining the VISN I EKG systems to ensure uninterrupted clinical functionality.
