Full Description

The Department of Veterans SAO West NCO 19, Rocky Mountain Acquisition Center, 4100 E. Mississippi Avenue Suite 900, Glendale, CO 80246 intends to enter into sole source procurement under FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source to, Bard Access Systems, Inc. 605 North 5600 West, Salt Lake City, UT 84116. Bard Access Systems, said to be the sole distributor of Site Rite Vision II Ultrasound System, a registered trademark of C.R. Bard, INC. The VA Medical Center is requesting a quantity of four of the following; Site-Rite Vision II Ultrasound Probe One Systems (9770170), 128 Element 40mm Probe with Buttons (9770168), Storage Option of One Large Basket (9770189), 3CG Stand Alone Tip Confirmation Systems (9770131), and Brother Printers with Mounting Hardware (9770083). The Bard ultrasound system is being requested because it is the only system available that meets VA requirements for the tip location system and is compatible with the catheters and needle guide supplies currently used at the VA Denver Medical Center. Four Site-Rite Vision Ultrasound Systems are needed to for guided vascular access using the following features: 1) 3CG tip location system, increasing placement accuracy and patient safety 2) the ability to use this machine with only one practitioner without breaking sterility; 3) the ability to record images for documentation and training purposes. This system is the only system available that incorporates the ultrasound technology, tip navigation system, and ECG confirmation of tip location in one system. No other vendors are believed to have the capability of supplying a system with equal technology necessary to increase successful placement and decrease risks associated with placement of central catheters. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document shall be posted and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any manufacturer that determines it can meet the requirements may give written notice via e-mail to contact@example.gov prior to 6/23/2014 at 11:00 PM Mountain Time. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to meet the subject requirement. This information shall be provided at no cost or obligation to the Government. All responses received will be evaluated; however, the information received will be used solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement at the sole discretion of the Contracting Officer. If no responses are received, the Denver VA SAO West NCO 19 Rocky Mountain Acquisition Center will proceed with sole source procurement to Bard Access Systems, Inc.
