65--INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE

The Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio, Cardiology Department, intends to sole source this procurement to St. Jude Medical Inc for Biocor heart Valves. The VA believes that St. Jude is a unique source due to compatibility to existing systems and St. Jude is the manufacturer and producer of this item. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 339113 and size standard of 500 Employees to this procurement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within seven (7) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements.
