The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 17, plans to establish a sole-source consignment agreement with Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems Inc., specifically for a variety of peripheral stents and percutaneous transluminal angioplasty balloon catheters to be used at the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System in Temple, Texas. Johnson & Johnson is identified as the exclusive manufacturer of these medical devices, and no other suppliers are deemed able to meet the agency's specific requirements, justifying the non-competitive procurement under the statutory authority 41 U.S.C.253 (c)(1). The contract will have a performance period of 48 months starting from the award date, streamlining the supply of these critical medical products for surgery and treatment within the veterans’ healthcare system. This notice serves as an intent announcement rather than a solicitation for offers or quotes. Although not a competitive solicitation, any interested qualified vendor who believes they can fulfill the government’s needs may notify the Contract Specialist by email before a specified deadline; however, telephone responses are not accepted. Any submissions must provide compelling evidence that introducing competition would benefit the government, but the decision to pursue competitive procurement lies solely with the Contracting Officer. The acquisition under NAICS code 339113 reflects the specialized nature of the medical equipment required, ensuring continuity and quality of care for veterans in Central Texas through this exclusive agreement with Johnson & Johnson.
