The Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center intends to negotiate sole source procurement with Advanced Sterilization Products System, a Johnson & Johnson Company, a division of Ethicon. The proposed contract action is for the purchase of a maintenance contract for the sterilizer, model STERRAD NX 10033, NX 200 for base plus 4 option periods. The maintenance contract shall consist of planned maintenance labor and parts, corrective maintenance labor and parts, extended full service hours (24 hours a day, 7 days a week), product configuration report, database report, product certification and up-time guarantee. Justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(A)and(B), only one responsible source. This is not a request for quotes. No solicitation documents will be issued. Firms that believe they can meet the VA's requirements must submit proof to the Contracting Officer no later than August 12, 2008 at 4:00 P.M. local time. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
