The VAMC Providence intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Olympus America for the purchase of two CV-190 EVIS EXERA III Video Processors and associated light sources to replace existing components in their Olympus endoscopic towers. These devices are critical for providing high-definition video and light during endoscopic procedures, and must be fully compatible with the current Olympus equipment, including bronchoscopes and Endoworks software. The replacement components must maintain form, fit, and function compatibility with the existing system, with preference given to connections that do not require adapters. This procurement is being pursued under FAR 6.302-1, allowing sole source acquisition because Olympus is the only manufacturer capable of supplying components that integrate seamlessly into the current endoscopic towers at Providence VAMC. The notice serves not as a competitive solicitation but as a means to gauge market interest and capabilities, with responses invited by May 30, 2013.
