36C25020Q0106 SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE VimedixAR Manikin Upgrade The Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, 10701 East Blvd Cleveland, OH 44106 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.1061(b)(1)-Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. The NAICS code is 334510 with a small business size standard of 1250. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with CAE Healthcare, Inc 6300 Edgelake Drive Sarasota, FL 34240. VAMC Cleveland simulation center is requesting an upgrade to the software used with the Vimedix ultrasound simulator currently in use. The current equipment has reached the maximum upgrades and the newest technology is needed to continue to provide simulation-based learning opportunities. CAE Vimedix is operated with CAE s proprietary software and is the only ultrasound simulator that offers integration with Microsoft HoloLens. Contractor shall be authorized to provide installation, training, and repairs throughout the lifespan of the equipment. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Tuesday November 19, 2019 at 4PM EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
