36C25020Q0551 SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Carescape Respiratory Modules The Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, 10701 East Blvd Cleveland, OH 44106 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.1061(b)(1)-Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. The NAICS code is 334510 with a small business size standard of 1250. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with GE Healthcare 3030 Ohmeda Dr. Madison, OH 53718. All the Operating Rooms at the Ambulatory Surgical Center at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VAMC utilize GE Aisys CS2 Anesthesia Machines. Anesthesia machines provide a continuous supply of oxygen and nitrous oxide with a mixture of anesthetic vapors. This standardization is a necessity, as there are supplies that must be used with these machines; the most important being the single width gas module.This request is for twenty (20) additional CARESCAPE Respiratory Modules, that shall be compatible with the current model of the anesthesia machines currently in use. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Thursday April 23, 2020 at 2pm. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
