The Department of Veterans Affairs, Tennessee Valley Healthcare System Veterans Affairs Medical Center, intends to award a sole source contract to Lumenis Inc. for maintenance and service of Lumenis Pulse laser surgical equipment used at the VA Nashville and VA Murfreesboro Medical Centers. This contract covers preventive and corrective maintenance for three high-risk FDA-regulated medical lasers utilized in eye clinics and operating rooms. The agreement is set to begin by May 1, 2022, and run through April 30, 2023, with four additional option years. The contract is executed under the Federal Acquisition Regulation allowing sole source procurement, reflecting the unique service capabilities of Lumenis. This notice serves as a market research announcement seeking information from qualified businesses, including Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses and other socio-economic categories, capable of providing the specified service. Respondents must demonstrate their technical expertise and authorization by Lumenis to maintain the laser systems, although no funds have been appropriated for the contract at this stage. Interested parties must submit complete responses by April 8, 2022, including business details and proof of authorization, but the government is under no obligation to issue a solicitation or award a contract.
