AI Contract Overview
The Department of Veterans Affairs, through the Northport VA Medical Center, intends to award a sole-source contract to Polymedco Cancer Diagnostic Products, LLC for the procurement of one OC-Auto Sensor iO analyzer to support the mailed Fecal Immunochemical Testing program for colorectal cancer screening across VISN 2. This action is driven by an emergent operational need as the current analyzer is being discontinued by the vendor, and a second unit is required to maintain testing throughput. The procurement is conducted under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(ii), which permits sole-source acquisition when only one source is capable of fulfilling the government’s requirements, with NAICS code 334516 applying and a size standard of 1,000 employees. The equipment includes a one-year manufacturer’s warranty and extended service coverage beyond the warranty period, along with one annual preventative maintenance service and technical support available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. The period of performance begins 30 days after award, with delivery and performance taking place at the Northport VA Medical Center in New York. No formal solicitation exists, and the government is issuing a Notice of Intent to Sole Source to solicit expressions of interest from potential providers prior to May 1, 2026, by 4:00 p.m. EST, to evaluate whether alternative sources exist. Submissions must include detailed technical and pricing information to determine if a comparable source is available, and all responses must be emailed to jonatan.rondon@va.gov. The government retains full discretion to proceed with the sole-source award or initiate a competitive procurement based on responses received. No contract value, pricing, or cost data is currently available, as no proposals have been submitted or evaluated. The contracting officer is Jonatan Rondon, with no designated contracting officer’s representative identified. No packaging, inspection criteria beyond warranty compliance, or specific contract clauses beyond the sole-source authority are specified, and no socioeconomic set-asides, certifications, or additional special requirements are included in this action.
