The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 8, Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center, 1201 NW 16th Street, Miami, FL 33195 intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price sole source procurement to the O.E.M., Baxter Healthcare Corp, located at One Baxter Parkway, Deerfield, IL, 60015 to provide PrisMax V3 System that provides continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) therapies. Market research was conducted and determined that Baxter Healthcare Corp is the only authorized distributor of the OEM to sell this system to the Federal Government. This sole-source award to Baxter Healthcare Corp. is in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 1901 as implemented by the procedures outline in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 13.5. This Sole Source is authorized under FAR subpart 13.106-1(b) - soliciting from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of this contract action deem only one source reasonably available. This Notice of Intent is not a request for Proposals or Quotations. No solicitation document exists and no telephone or email inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made on the basis of proposals, or quotations received in response to this notice. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide services sought including pricing data and technical data sufficient to determine that a comparable source to the government is available. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
