AI Contract Overview
The Department of Veterans Affairs, through the Network Contracting Office 6, intends to issue a solicitation for the procurement and installation of the Stellant FLEX-Medrad Stellant Flex Injection System, a portable CT injector, to be deployed at the Durham VA Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. This system is critical for radiology services, particularly for cardiac patient care. The planned procurement will be executed as a competitive firm-fixed-price contract under the NAICS code 339112, which covers surgical and medical instrument manufacturing, and utilizes the Product Service Code 6515. The solicitation will be publicly available via the System for Award Management (SAM) website, where interested vendors must be registered to submit quotations. The contracting office emphasizes electronic solicitation access, prohibits hard copy distributions, and directs questions and communications exclusively through email contacts. Prior to solicitation issuance, a Sources Sought Notice was released for market research purposes to identify capable vendors and to assess possible set-aside considerations, including Veteran-Owned and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned small business statuses. Respondents were required to provide comprehensive details such as company identification, socioeconomic status, certifications, relevant licenses, and a capabilities statement. The place of performance and installation will be at the Durham VA Medical Center, with the contractor responsible for delivering and installing the injection system. While detailed contract terms such as pricing schedules, delivery schedules, or evaluation criteria have not yet been established within the pre-solicitation phase, the government plans to award a single contract to a responsible and responsive source. The submission deadline for final quotes, once the solicitation is issued, is scheduled for June 12, 2026. The solicitation process and responses are governed by FAR guidelines, with explicit instructions that the current pre-solicitation and sources sought notices do not constitute an offer or a request for proposals.
