The Department of Veterans Affairs, through its Network Contracting Office 12, plans to procure license upgrades and components for GE CARESCAPE B450 Patient Monitors from GE Medical Systems Information Technologies, Inc. This procurement is conducted as a limited source acquisition under FAR 8.405-6(b) because GE Healthcare is the sole manufacturer and authorized service provider for these monitors. The facility currently owns 85 of these devices, and the additional licenses and peripherals are intended to standardize monitoring across telemetry boxes and patient monitors. This standardization aims to enhance patient safety by improving the transmission of vital sign data to the central station, allowing for a broader range of alarm settings and better detection of abnormal patient vitals. The upgrade includes software licenses and installation/configuration services that only GE Healthcare can provide. Interested parties may express their capability and interest by responding no later than March 9, 2022, but this notice does not constitute a solicitation for competitive proposals. The Government retains full discretion on whether to open the procurement to competition based on responses received. The procurement is aligned with NAICS code 334510 and is managed by the VA’s Network Contract Office 12 in Milwaukee, WI, with Jim Hedman serving as the point of contact for this acquisition.
