The Department of Veterans Affairs, through the Columbia VAMC, is conducting market research to identify qualified vendors capable of supplying specialized eye equipment for a new Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Columbia, Missouri. This is a Sources Sought notice only, meaning no quotes or proposals will be accepted or evaluated at this stage; the intent is to gather information from potential suppliers to inform future procurement activities. The requirement covers a comprehensive list of clinical ophthalmic instruments including a 90-degree inclination lensometer, handheld pachymeter with 65 MHz sampling, exophthalmometer based on the Hertel method, prism bar sets with horizontal and vertical diopter ranges, trial lens sets with 0.25 diopter increments, color vision test books with random-dot stereo targets and polarized glasses, retinal visualization lenses, and other accessories such as a rust ring remover, pinhole occluder, and scleral depressor made of medical-grade stainless steel. All items are specified as Brand Name or Equal, with designated manufacturers listed but equivalent products permitted if they meet the exact technical characteristics. Vendors must be authorized distributors with formal documentation from the Original Equipment Manufacturer, and must comply fully with the Buy American Act under FAR 52.225-1. Response materials must include company name, address, point of contact, phone, fax, email, UEI number, GSA Contract if applicable, a detailed capability statement, product brochures containing full specifications, and proof of OEM authorization.
