The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 17, plans to award a firm-fixed price modification to SLMP, LLC (StatLab) to increase the ceiling of an existing IDIQ contract for additional supplies related to cytology, anatomic pathology, and histology testing on the Sakura VIP 6 AI system. This includes specific items such as Pad-Formalizer-Small and Coverglass 24x50, intended to support increased testing demand at the VA North Texas Healthcare System’s Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service in Dallas, Texas. The modification will use previous contract pricing and GSA rates, driven by higher supply usage due to new VA initiatives and more patient samples requiring processing. This notice serves as a special notice of intent and is not a solicitation for bids or proposals; however, interested parties may submit capability statements or proposals within five days to be considered for competitive evaluation. If no suitable alternatives are identified, the contract modification will proceed solely with StatLab under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, which permits sole source awards when only one responsible source is available to meet agency needs. The contracting office handling this action is based in San Antonio, Texas, with Delphia Schoenfeld as the point of contact.
