66 -- Industry Day for the Common Avionics Display (CAD)

This notice is to inform Industry that the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, MD, Air Combat Electronics Program Office (PMA209), desires to continue its exchanges with industry in its planning of the Common Avionics Display (CAD) Acquisition. A follow-up to Industry Day will be held on 25 January 2006 from 8:00 AM until approximately 4:00 PM at the Four Points Sheraton BWI Airport Hotel which is located at 7032 Elm Road, Baltimore, MD. Shuttle bus service is provided from the airport terminal. The agenda for this session is as follows: CAD Working Group overview; Platform Brief from AH-1Z/UH-1Y and potentially from MV-22B, HLR and E-2D; Notional CAD RFP/Development Schedule; Display Performance Parameters; Life Cycle Cost Model/Discussion; and Open Discussion on Commonality Objectives. Additional Industry Sessions are anticipated to be schedule in February, March and April. If they are scheduled, they will be announced in the FEDBIZOPPS. An initial Industry day was held on 15 December 2005. This included a full day of CAD technical programmatic presentations, a question and answer period and a working group discussion. 85 people attended, which included representatives from 37 companies. An overview of the initial Industry Day, including questions and answers, and information about the CAD program will be available on the PMA 209 Website shortly. This announcement will be amended when the link to the website becomes available. Pre-registration for the Industry Session to be held 25 January is required. Respondents should indicate whether they are a small business (S), a small disadvantaged business (SDB), an 8(a) firm, or a large business (L). The U.S. Displays Consortium (USDC) will provide support for these Industry sessions. USDC is an industry-led, public/private partnership providing a common platform for flat panel display manufacturers and developers, FPD users, and the supplier base.
