66--Temperature Profile Monitoring Systems

This contract action was accomplished using other than competitive procedures because there is only one responsible source as this is a follow-on contract, and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements (FAR 6.302-1). See posted J&A for further information. Temperature profiling systems for five locations; each system consists of a single string of temperature thermisters that float on a buoy on the reservoir, which measures the water column temperature profile (stratification). Data are stored and transmitted to a base station via telemetry (iSIC datalogger). The District is currently using NexSens ichart software to handle real time data acquisition, local data display, and automatically posting data plots to the web. Data from thermisters that lie on the lake bottom as the pool elevation falls are automatically removed from the database. Each system must interface with existing water quality instruments. These systems include, but are not limited to, data loggers, monitoring buoys, and sonar.
