The Department of Veterans Affairs’ Network Contracting Office 16 intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Nikon Instruments Inc., located in Melville, NY, to supply Tower Documentation Workstations and Monitors compatible with Nikon Microscopes used by the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System. The workstations must integrate proprietary Nikon software and configurations to maintain compliance with factory specifications, safety standards, and FDA regulations. Obtaining these products from any source other than Nikon could void warranties and violate certification standards, as Nikon is the only authorized provider for necessary software updates. The total estimated purchase amount is $47,610. This procurement follows FAR 13.501 guidelines and falls under NAICS code 333314, with no set-aside restrictions. While this is an intent to sole source rather than a competitive solicitation, the agency welcomes capability statements from other parties by the specified deadline for potential consideration, although any decision not to compete remains at the government’s discretion. All products and components must meet FDA requirements for medical devices in the U.S., ensuring the integrity and compliance of the equipment both domestically and for requested deliveries outside the U.S. The contracting officer point of contact is Corey L. Labbe.
