This sources-sought solicitation, issued by the Department of Defense under solicitation number W91CRB11LRSCAMERA, seeks a long-range surveillance camera system. The technical requirements specify a field of view ranging from 2.0 degrees at the tele end to 45 degrees at the wide end, with detection and recognition ranges set at 10 miles for 16k and 6 miles for 10k. The system must support multiple frequency ranges, including 1.150-1.400 GHz, 2.280-2.485 GHz, and 5.725-5.850 GHz, and must be compatible with BA5590 batteries. The agency is looking for support within a 4 to 6 month timeline and has explicitly stated that repeaters are not allowed. While the government is interested in learning more about laser communication capabilities and the ability to support multiple cameras at a single monitoring point, these are not currently listed as formal requirements. The solicitation was posted by the W6QK Acc-Apg office located in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
