The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division intends to award three sole-source contracts to The Boeing Company for a total anticipated value of 12.6 million dollars. These actions support the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training through the delivery of specialized training tools and courseware for the E/A-18G and F/A-18 aircraft programs. The scope of work includes the fabrication and installation of an Integrated Virtual Environment Maintenance Trainer in Washington, the development of corrosion prevention training aids and courseware, and updates to existing maintenance courseware. The expected periods of performance for these efforts range from 16 to 24 months. Boeing is identified as the only responsible source due to its role as the original designer and manufacturer, providing it with the exclusive technical data and engineering expertise required to meet government specifications. While this notice serves as an intent to negotiate a sole-source award, the government allowed interested parties to submit evidence of their capabilities to determine if a competitive procurement would be more advantageous.
