This is a notice of intent to place an order with Calix Networks Inc., on a sole source basis for the purchase of the following items: Qty 10 - Resource Arbitration Processor 2, OC3/12/48, 1310nm; Qty 20 - Remote POTS, 24 Ports (POTs UVG, FXS, PLAR, 2WTO; Qty 4 DS3-12 Ports, SONET Mapped; Qty 4 10/100 Ethernet, 12 Ports, SONET Mapped; Qty 4 DS1, 12 Ports Asynchronous; Qty 4 OC12, 4 Ports, Packet/SONET, IR, 1310nm; Qty 4 OC48, 1 Port, Packet/SONNET, LR 1550nm, I-temp; Qty 8 Metallic Services Protection A side. Calix Sonnet network has been in use at White Sands Missile Range for over six (6) years and has provided communication services to all range customers and operations. Calix has propietary rights to the equipment and the Calix Management System (CMS) software. No award will be made solely on the basis of this notice since a synopsis of intent to place an order cannot be considered a request for proposals/offers-- Responses to this notice will be used to determine whether bondafide competition exists and whether a request for quote is appropriate. No solicitation/quote documents exists and no telephone inquires will be accepted--written responses, if applicable, prices and technical data sufficient to determine capability to meet the requirement, must be received by this office within 3 calendar days after this notice -- If no affirmative responses are received within this time to determine that a comparable source more advantageous to the Government is available, an order will be placed with the above named vendor. A request for quote will not be considered an affirmative response.
