Full Description

Pursuant to FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), the U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), Ft. Detrick, MD, intends to issue a sole source award to IBM in the amount of $20,091.99.00 to purchase maintenance, technical repairs and extended warranty of U.S. Army/Government owned IBM Tape Library TS3500 Type 3584 with L53 frame and 8 LT04 Tape drives. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice is not a request for proposal and a solicitation will not be issued in conjunction with the notice of intent. Any vendor that believes it can provide the stated supplies/equipment can provide supporting documents demonstrating their products capability and specifications. Responses received may be used for future acquisitions. Information can be sent to the Contract Specialist, Mr. Jeremy Calligan at contact@example.gov. No telephone or facsimile requests will be accepted. This procurement will be prepared in accordance with FAR Part 13, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This notice of intent to sole source is not for the IBM Tape Library itself. It is only for the component items, services, and extended warranty associated with the Tape Library. The IBM Tape Library component items, services, and extended warranty of such are considered a unique application package to this system and must be procured from IBM so as to not void the warranty on the system.
