70--Data Tape and Maintenance

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The South Dakota Army National Guard (SDARNG) has a request for ExaGrid Data Tape and Maintenance. Item descriptions and manufacturer reference information is provided for the requested ExaGrid Data Tape and Maintenance to help identify a desired standard of performance and quality. A standard level of quality would be comparable to the ExaGrid Data Tape and Maintenance referenced in the request. This reference shall not be construed as limiting competition. Items quoted must be equal to or better than what's identified. Please provide product description literature/information or a website for any quoted equipment. Not doing so may render your quote as not acceptable. ITEM 0 Additional Information The following items will also need to be included in the system for a valid quote: A turnkey appliance disk-based target that sits behind existing backup servers such as CA ARCserve, Symantec NetBackup, Symantec BackupExec, CommVault Galaxy-Simpana, EMC Networker, TSM, Veeam, Vizioncore vRanger Pro and other existing backup servers. A simple NAS interface allowing for no change to the existing backup application. A disk-based backup system that allows the backup jobs to write directly to disk for faster backups (post process). This post process approach performs compression and data de-duplication after the backup job is safely on disk. A disk-based backup system that retains the most recent backup in full form for fast full backup restores and fast off-site tape copy. Byte level data de-duplication such that data backups can be stored in a minimal amount of space since redundant data is not stored and changed data is stored as byte level deltas only. A scalable solution that allows additional servers to be seamlessly added, in a scalable grid computing system, as the need for capacity grows. Each server adds additional disk capacity, memory, processor and bandwidth to maintain performance as the data increases. The ability to expand to a second offsite disk-based system for replacement or augmentation of offsite tapes, and for disk-based disaster recovery of data. The ability to keep an up to date offsite copy, in complete form, for fast full backup disaster recovery restores. ITEM 1 Description: EX13000E: RAW 32TB, useable 26TB. Included Grid, Replacement.
