AI Contract Overview

The contract involves the procurement of customized furniture to supplement existing pieces in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) conference room at Fort McCoy. Specifically, it calls for 17 double flip integrated LCD desks and 4 single flip integrated LCD desks, all tailored to remove CPU bays, eliminate center supports, and replace specific branded components with centered units to match the existing SMART desk systems already in place. These tables are designed to house EOC laptop computers securely within the conference room tables, enabling rapid activation of the EOC during crises while maintaining a professional appearance for video teleconferences and meetings involving various military leadership levels. This procurement is awarded as a sole source contract to CBT Design, Inc., a woman-owned small business, after market research showed that other vendors did not meet the specialized requirements for the EOC furniture. The furniture must support multipurpose use and integrate seamlessly with current systems, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics for Garrison, Tenant Unit Commanders, Senior Leaders, and General Officers. The contract underscores ongoing efforts to identify emerging suppliers capable of fulfilling these unique requirements.

New Furniture for EOC. Current requirements are to supplement existing furniture on-site and include shipping and assembly on site: 17 each double flip integrated LCD desks each customized (a) to remove CPU bay (b) center support between (c) replace FIK-18 with centered FIL units; 4 each Single Flip It Integrated LCD desk customized (a) to remove CPU bay (b) replace FIK/18 with center FIL units. This effort will be a sole source effort for CBT Design, Inc, a woman owned small business. There are already SMART desk systems in the EOC conference room and these systems will be made to match existing systems. During suitability and marketing research, it was determined the EOC Conference room requires the ability to house EOC laptop computers inside the conference room tables. Prepositioning of laptop computers allows quick activation of the EOC during a crisis. When the EOC is not activated, the laptops will be secured in the table. The Motif flip conference room tables meet this requirement. Additionally, the Motif tables provide a professional appearance to have a multipurpose conference room for video-teleconferences and meetings for Garrison, Tenant Unit Commanders, Senior Leaders, and General Officers. Three other vendors were contacted, but did not meet the EOC furniture requirements. A continued effort will occur to locate other emerging sources able to provide this requirement.
