71 -- Workstations

This is a special notice. for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The Government intends to negotiate and award a sole source purchase order with Elite Installation Services, Inc. for the purchase of 80 Herman Miller workstations, currently being leased from Elite. Macdill AFB intends to issue a purchase order to Elite under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the existing agency requirements, for the following reasons stated in the J&A: As stated above, the 80 workstations being purchased are currently being leased from Elite Services are already on Macdill AFB. Should the 80 workstations be procured from another source many personnel would be displaced during the transition. US SOCOM does not have the space to accommodate the displaced personnel and therefore the mission would be seriously impacted. Therefore, the benefit to the Government, by proceeding with a sole source, exceeds any benefit that would be achieved through full and open competition. This announcement constitutes the only announcement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. The incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-15. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 337214 The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) is 2522 with a small business size of 500 employees. A Firm Fixed Price contract will be awarded.
