Caltrans has approved an encroachment permit for AT&T to conduct limited excavation work along Pacific Coast Highway (CA-01) at postmile 10.12, east of Eubanks Avenue in Los Angeles, to install a new ground bed adjacent to Pole #370460M. The work involves excavating approximately 10 square feet of bare soil in the parkway to a maximum depth of 48 inches, with an average width of 12 inches and a length of up to 10 feet, solely for the purpose of burying a #6 AWG bare copper ground wire that connects to two newly installed 5/8 inch diameter, 8-foot long copper grounding rods. These rods will be pneumatically driven into the ground with a minimum of 42 inches of soil cover and will be interconnected with the existing jointly owned pole from LADWP and AT&T. No relocation of public utilities or acquisition of new right-of-way is required. All traffic control activities will be conducted in accordance with applicable regulations, and the project will remain within the existing infrastructure boundaries without impacting surrounding public utilities or roadways. The permit is issued under Caltrans District 7 - Los Angeles, with Mojgan Abbassi serving as the primary point of contact for the project.
