Aera proposes to sidetrack a total of seven existing waterflood wells in the existing and heavily developed South Belridge Oil Field to continue oil and gas resource development. The project will involve abandoning the lower portion of each well, drilling a sidetrack, installing a new production casing and returning the well to injection, within the same completion zone. The proposed project consists of the California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) approving seven permits for Aera to sidetrack the wells listed below, in the South Belridge Oil Field.
