The Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office 15 is supporting the Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) on a requirement to procure Patient Centric Labels for all seven CMOP facilities. The VA National Center for Patient Safety (NCPS) conducted research which confirmed that a new standardized VA prescription label is preferred by Veterans and improves Veteran comprehension of prescription label information. This new standardized prescription label was piloted in 2012 and was rated favorably compared to the old label. In January of 2013, the VA Advisory Board accepted the motion to recommend the patient-centric label format as the VA standard. The NAICS code for this solicitation is 322220 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. The Government intends to award a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) with a one year base period and four (12 month) options periods on a Firm-Fixed-Price basis under the Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) as a small business set-aside. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the FSS for announcement, changes, or amendments to Solicitation # VA255-14-Q-0849. The Government reserves the right to make single or multiple awards based on operational needs. This synopsis is provided for informational purposes only and is not to be considered a request for proposal/quote; however, all responsible sources meeting the socioeconomic status may submit a proposal under the FSS which shall be considered by the agency. Please be advised that no solicitation will be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities website.
