This is an Intent to Sole Source, this is not a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to provide information based on this requirement. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contacting Office 8, Regional Procurement Office East, on behalf of the Miami VA Medical Center located at 1201 NW 16th Street, Miami, FL 33125-1624, intends to award a Firm Fixed Price sole source award to Siemens Medical Solutions USA Inc. located at 40 Liberty Boulevard, Malvern, PA 19355, in support of the Imaging Service CT Scan Department. The proposed contract is for the SOMATOM Definition Flash Software Upgrade. This sole source award to Siemens Medical Solutions USA Inc. is in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 1901 as implemented by way of the procedures in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 13.5. This Sole Source is authorized under FAR subpart 13.106-1(b), soliciting from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of this contract action deem only one source reasonably available.
