AI Contract Overview

The contract involves the procurement of Cytec-Fiberite Industries Inc. aluminum-filled, modified epoxy film adhesive, part number FM-400NA, designed for bonding metal to metal and sandwich composites that can withstand continuous exposure up to 420 degrees Fahrenheit. The delivery consists of two separate orders: one for a single roll to Jacksonville, Florida, and another for four rolls to San Diego, California. Each roll measures 3.5 feet wide by 150 feet long with a film weight of 0.10 lb/sq ft, and the product must be shipped with a maximum age of one month from removal from chilled storage, maintained at or below 0 degrees Fahrenheit. The supplier must certify that the adhesive has been stored under these chilling conditions since manufacture to ensure compliance with shelf-life requirements. Noncompliance permits the government to reject the product. Packaging requirements are stringent, with two options depending on the shipping method. For refrigerated Autofreight delivery, the adhesive is sealed in a vapor-tight bag and packed within an insulated, high-strength corrugated fiberboard box with clear markings mandating refrigeration or freezing upon arrival. For unrefrigerated overnight express shipments, the adhesive is similarly packaged with additional dry ice to maintain cold temperatures during transit. Special marking on all packaging must include specification details, manufacturer information, batch and manufacture dates, as well as usage and storage instructions. Delivery packages must conform to federal and military marking standards depending on the destination. The contract ensures the safe transit and preserved quality of this specialized adhesive material critical for high-temperature bonding applications.
