AI Contract Overview

This contract involves the procurement of 20 units of a highly specialized part identified as NSN 6K-8145-011460291-QH, with delivery terms specified as FOB origin. The item requires 100% Source, Budget, and Supply Agreement (SBSA) compliance and mandates strict engineering source approval by the designated design control activity to ensure quality is maintained. Due to the unique design capabilities, proprietary engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge held by currently qualified sources, acquisition or repair must be performed exclusively by approved suppliers. These approved sources retain critical technical data and manufacturing knowledge that are not economically available to the Government, making source approval essential. Any alternate source must undergo a rigorous qualification process in accordance with procedures approved by the appropriate Government engineering authority, particularly because the part is flight critical and its technical data does not support full and open competition. Only sources previously approved by the Government have been solicited for this procurement. Prospective suppliers not yet approved must submit detailed technical data or documentation of prior submissions as specified in the Navy Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Weapon Systems Support source approval brochures to be considered. Proposals lacking required source approval documentation will be disqualified. In cases where source approval for new suppliers cannot be processed in time, the Government may proceed with awarding contracts to existing approved sources to meet urgent fleet support needs. The contract is managed by the Department of Defense, DLA Aviation at Philadelphia, with an offer submission deadline of June 22, 2026. The point of contact for this solicitation is Casey Stock, who can be reached via email or phone for further information.
