Title: 84 - Mine Resistant Combat Boot Request for Information (RFI) Solicitation Number: TBD Agency: Department of the Army Office: Army Contracting Command Location: ACC-APG Notice Type: Sources Sought Posted Date: June 1, 2012 Response Date: June 15, 2012 @ 12:00 p.m. Set Aside: N/A Classification Code: 84 - Clothing, Individual Equipment & Insignia NAICS Code: 316211 - Rubber & Plastics Footwear Manufacturing Synopsis: This is a Request for Information (RFI) to determine possible candidate items for subsequent Foreign Comparative Testing (FCT). Please be advised that this is for informational purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quotation (RFQ). The Government is not responsible for any cost incurred in providing this information. The US Army is looking for information on commercial combat boots which are able to protect the user from anti-personnel mine blast and fragmentation threats (also known as "blast boots"). This protection must be provided in such a way that it does not limit the user's mobility. Because of this, blast boots that utilize a large standoff distance will not be sought in this RFI. The Government may decide to acquire more than one vender product for testing purposes. Responses to this RFI should be constructed as a Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat document containing a product description, summary of testing, cost estimation, and any other relevant information. Please send these responses as an email attachment to Mr. Matthew Davenport (matthew.r.davenport10.civ@mail.mil). Point of Contact(s): Matthew Davenport, 508-233-6471, matthew.r.davenport10.civ@mail.mil
