Alameda County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) operates a Disaster Response Logistics Warehouse, located in San Leandro, CA. The warehouse is a 20,000 square foot facility located on 2 acres and houses the emergency response equipment, supplies and trailers for the Alameda County EMS Agency, and Public Health Department. This facility was set up during the COVID-19 pandemic to store supplies necessary to support the county's healthcare system with personal protective equipment, disaster supplies, medical surge tents, and various other disaster response equipment and supplies. To support daily warehouse operations and surge events, EMS has broad array of material handling equipment – Forklifts, Pallet Jacks, etc. Of particular importance is an articulated forklift capable of navigating the narrow aisles of the storage racks to store the supplies on the various rack levels. This request for purchase is intended to replace the existing articulated forklift with a new unit, capable of meeting the warehouse demands for narrow aisle operation, height requirements for storage racks, lift capacity required for products being stored, and multi-surface operation for indoor and outdoor use on paved surfaces.
