AI Contract Overview
This contract involves the procurement of fuel oil for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Togus, Augusta, Maine, with a period of performance lasting one year from the date of award. The government initially intended to issue a sole source solicitation under solicitation number 36C24126Q0073, citing unusual and compelling urgency as the basis for negotiating exclusively with a single brand name supplier under FAR 6.302-2. The procurement falls under NAICS code 324110, which pertains to petroleum refineries and related products. The notice indicates that additional vendors have been identified, leading to the cancellation of the original presolicitation intent to sole source. Interested responsible sources that believe they are qualified to supply the required fuel oil are invited to submit relevant documentation by November 19, 2025, to the designated contact. The government will review responses solely to assess whether to proceed with an unrestricted, open market competition in the future. It is emphasized that this notice is not a solicitation and does not constitute a request for competitive proposals. The procurement process remains in the market research phase, and no solicitation is currently available. The primary contact for inquiries is Tyler Kenyon at the VA, located in Togus, Maine.
